insomnia antioxidant
Safety Information Keep lid tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children. Product Description Melatonin is a hormone secreted by your pineal gland in your brain. It is a powerful antioxidant found in every cell of your body, but plays a particular role in fighting free radicals in your brain. It also indirectly increases the main antioxidant enzyme of your brain, glutathione peroxidase, to increase glutathione. The production of melatonin declines with aging as does the production of other hormones. This decline may be partially responsible for the sleep disorders in those over 5 years of age. A decline in melatonin levels coincides with a decline in estrogen levels in post-menopausal women. Your pineal gland makes melatonin from serotonin which is made from dietary tryptophan. Many tranquilizers, sleeping pills, & antidepressants suppress melatonin formation. Directions One capsule before bedtime as needed or as recommended by a health care professional.
