Safety Information Variations in product color may occur. Product Description Flax Seed Oil is the most potent known source of alpha-linolenic acid, an omega-3 fatty acid. It is extracted from organically grown flax seed using a special cold-pressing process, which minimizes the damaging effects of light, oxygen and heat. Flax Seed Oil is also rich in the omega-6 essential fatty acid, linoleic acid, as well as the omega-9 oleic acid. With a total EFA content greater than 70 percet, and a total unsaturation of greater than 90 percent, this is a cost-effective means of supplementing with omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9 fatty acids. Essential fatty acids are used by the body to regulate inflammation, hormone production and synthesis, immune response, fat metabolism, cell membrane rigidity and fluidity, etc. Some people simply do not like the taste of flax seed oil, and prefer to take it in capsule form. These capsules are carob-coated to protect the oil from light.
