99% accurate* Includes 2 tests Results in 10 minutes
Safety Information Medication or urine containing high levels of certain hormones can result in an improper test result. It is possible that some women may have conditions in which their FSH level does not rise above the test's detection limit, resulting in a false result (see instructions for details). Conditions that result in increased FSH values can lead to false results (see instructions for details) Product Description The CARE Menopause test helps you to determine if you have reached menopause. Menopause is one point in time and means the end of natural childbearing. Some women reach menopause in their late 30s and a few in their 60s. The average age is about 51 years. During the past few centuries the age for the advent of menopause has not changed and has been unaffected by increased life expectancy, changes in nutrition or improved health care. Studies demonstrated that the only influencing factors seem to be smoking and genetic dispositions. For several years before and after menopause a woman may experience symptoms associated with the changes in hormone levels resulting in mood swings, irregular periods, hot flashes, insomnia, fatigue, depression, irritability, headaches, joint and muscle aches, changes in sex drive, vaginal dryness, frequent urinations and others. The CARE Menopause test measures follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), which is needed for reproduction. The test can be performed at any time, though it is advisable to use the first urine in the morning, when FSH levels are highest. FSH levels are also dependent upon the menstrual cycle, but usually remain below 20 IU/L. The test is positive when your FSH level is above 25 IU/L. If the test is positive, use the included second test one week after the first test to find out if your FSH level has remained elevated. CARE Menopause is FDA-cleared and in studies has been shown to be over 99% accurate. Indications Menopause, elevated FSH, irregular reproductive cycles, hot flashes, mood swings, irritability Directions The test is as easy to perform as a pregnancy test: Hold the test stick in the urine stream for 2-3 seconds Alternatively, collect the urine sample in a small container and hold the test stick for 5 seconds in the container Read results after 10 minutes The test kit includes 2 tests if the first test is positive, perform the second test a week later to confirm that FSH has remained elevated. Legal Disclaimer Read instructions and follow them carefully before using the test. Read and follow the warnings, precautions and limitations specified in the instructions. Always consult your physician before making any medical decisions.
