4. B-complex vitamins are generally readily absorbed. However, because they are water soluble and not stored in the body, they are lost extremely easily through secretion. For this reason, they must be supplied throughout the day, every day. When obtained from food, vitamins are gradually released over several hours as food is digested. However, in clinical situations higher potencies than those found in food are required.
