Safety Information The manufacturer has posted no health warnings related to this product. Keep out of the reach of children. Product Description S-adenosylmethionine (SAM-e) is a chemical compound found in all living cells. It is produced by a reaction between methionine (an essential amino acid that contains sulfur) and the "ATP" energy molecule (adenosine triphosphate). SAM-e is involved in over 40 biochemical processes in the human body, including all the processes involving sulfur, such as methylation and the production of glutathione, a tremendous free-radical scavenger and detoxifier. Italian scientists first discovered and isolated SAM-e in 1952, and most of the thousands of clinical studies have been performed in Europe, where it marketed as a prescription drug. It's brand-new to the American market, where it was introduced as a dietary supplement in March of 1999. Ingredients Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, SAMe, Calcium Phosphate, Stearic Acid, Croscarmellose, Magnesium Stearate Directions Clinical studies demonstrate that 2 tablets (400 mg) a day is an effective level of supplementation for most people. The best time to take SAM-e is on an empty stomach. Legal Disclaimer None of the statements have been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. PLEASE CAREFULLY FOLLOW ALL MANUFACTOR LABELS AND WARNINGS! These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Consult with a physician before beginning any supplement or exercise program.
